Bow Tie Rim

Trail Description:

A 1/2 mile semi-technical intermediate trail nestled atop a mesa within the 4,000 acre Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve. Bow-Tie Loop is deceptively tricky and will challenge your abilities to maintain your balance and speed while navigating rocky inclines, chunky declines and tight flow.

Race Course Info:

After parking, proceed down the short grade and make an immediate right. You will proceed uphill traversing rocks and washboard.

When you are at the top of the hill, you will see an intersection with a bicycle maintenance area on the right and a neighborhood trail from the left. Proceed straight until you come to a fork. Head left at the fork to begin the segment.

You will round a corner to the left, continue straight and make the first right onto the Bow-Tie Rim trailhead.

The segment ends when you pass a fence that intersects the fire road.

This course is easily repeatable with a brief ride south (right) on the fire road. Take the second right and you will be back at the segment

The trail can be ridden numerous times on the stock XR battery, but recommend that you save battery for some other amazing trails within the vicinity.

No charge spots nearby.

Additional info:

Parking is free at the end of Park Village Rd.

Green Flash Brewery is a four mile downhill trail ride or a short drive south. The trail can become hot during the summer, so bring water. It is best to tackle the trail in the morning or evening before dark.
